Another proud moment for Sikkim, as singer, Remanti Rai, along with 14 teenagers, is travelling to Assam to participate in the mega audition round of Northeast Idol on September 14, being held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. Remanti is also the Joint Secretary and a judge of the project, along with Amit Paul from Meghalaya,m and James Nabam Bizndo from Arunachal Pradesh, which has Zubeen Garg as the Chief Advisor of the event.
The 14 young people accompanying Remanti are, Shital Chettri, Anup Tamang, Mahesh Diyali, Sumi Hangma Subba, Kadhmoel Sharma, Nabin Gazmer, Phurba Tshering Tamang, Beenu Subba, Sumitra Rai, Preetam Rai, Anushka Sharma, Babita Thapa, Suraj Sewa and Sishir Thatal.
60 participants took part in the audition round for Sikkim at Remanti Sangeet Academy, Tadong last month.
The 14 selected contestants are specially groomed by Remanti. With her guidance and help, they are excited to be able to perform at the mega audition in Guwahati. Remanti Sangeet Academy has recently turned three years old and has two centres, one at Deorali and the other at Tadong. Under her guidance at the academy, over 250 students receive quality education, good facilities and are taught art and music. Remanti believes that the musical knowledge in Sikkim is growing day by day and is a positive sign for all music academies in the state. She plans to nourish musical geniuses in the state.
With the noble objective of helping Aashiana Northeast and Cancer Institute, North East Idol 2019 is organised by Amazing Arts from Arunachal Pradesh.
The Chief Guest at this event is Bhabesh Kalita, Minister for Irrigation, Revenue and DM, Govt. of Assam and the Guest of Honour is Ajay Jamwal, social worker and Secretary-General, BJP, North East India.
